My name is Claire Carter (she/her) and I am a chartered Doctor of Psychology registered in both Ireland and the U.K. I am a mental health advocate, keen globetrotter, and an aspiring baker. Originally from Cork, I moved to the U.K. to study in 2010 but returned to Ireland permanently in 2021 upon finishing my training.

I completed my undergraduate B.Sc. Psychology Honours with the University of Glasgow in 2014, followed by a post-graduate certificate in Advanced Psychological Wellbeing with the University of Surrey in 2016, and finally my professional Doctorate in Psychology with the University of South Wales in 2021.

I am registered with the U.K. Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC), and my U.K. degree has been validated by the Irish Department of Health. I am also a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), the British Psychological Society (BPS), and an associate member of the American Psychological Association (APA). Registration and membership with these organisations mean I adhere to their standards of conduct, performance, and ethics, and meet their conditions of continuing professional development.

I believe therapy is for everybody and endeavor to make a confidential space available to all my clients. The qualities I feel I bring into the therapy room are curiosity, kindness, respect, humour, and compassion. I am not a believer in the perfect human and see therapy as a space instead to talk, explore, maybe learn some techniques, and hopefully leave understanding yourself a little better.
